Summer has finally arrived, and along with the beautiful weather comes an abundance of outside activities. Summer on the Hudson brings the most enjoyable outdoor activities to Riverside Park. From art exhibits to fairs to movies, there are events for all ages to enjoy.
Public art is always popping up all over the city, and the Upper West Side is no exception. This summer, Riverside Park will host its Fourth Annual Riverside Gallery- Art in the Park. The program, Models to Monuments, is presented by the Art Students League of New York and welcomes artists to submit sculptures for judging. The seven winners will have their pieces installed in the Riverside Park South for a full year, and will be open to the public for viewing.
Learn to dance under the stars from the masters. Every Sunday in June and July at Pier 1, you can take salsa, cha-cha, and bachata lessons from the Piel Canela Dance and Music School, featuring DJ Ray Colon.
Looking for more of a relaxing night out? Throughout the summer, a variety of outdoor movies will be shown at Riverside Park. So pack a picnic, bring a friend, and enjoy a movie premiere under the moonlit sky.
A plethora of recreational outdoor activities are also being offered this summer, including dog training, Pilates and yoga, tai chi, nature walks, kayaking, beach volleyball, and much more!
